Hi,

I have had my first MTB for 3 months now and I love it, I have ridden Dalby's red trail and although it nearly finished me off what a buzz. Does anyone know any loops in the Hull area with singletrack / XC etc? I need somewhere local for a couple of hours blast.

Thanks,

Manny

Hi Manny, im in the same boat as you, live in Hull myself and have only been riding for a year. Done the red route at dalby too which was a blast and have just come back from a holiday at Cropton Forest which involved a near 20 mile route which was brill, but some routes a tad more local would be brilliant if anybody knows of any.
  • I saw a thread a while ago in the MTB Rides section about some guys from Hull who were arranging rides in the area. That maybe worth checking out.

I live near Howden and tend to go out on the Wolds Way when I can.

  • Thanks for the info, Ive looked for the thread but cant find it as yet. I rode around Raywell on Sunday and had a bit of off road in Constantine woods. I need to buy an OS map of the area. Looks like Dalby is the best so far, just a bit far for a short ride.

  • Alright people, am from the Hull area and I have never really rode round here off road properly. I didnt think there would be any decent rides, so I have always gone driving distances for a nice jaunt. Does anyone still go for some get togethers on here then?
  • We generally ride from Skidby Mill on Sundays at 10am if your interested :)
  • Unfortunately its the mighty tigers for me on Sunday. Next week think me and my bro will be in the dales for a nice ride round Castle Bolton. Just been on a little loop round from Kingswood through to Beverley and back again today. So how far do you normally go then 'Dirt'?
  • Usually 20 - 35 miles. We usually get over towards South Cave, Brantingham, Newbald, there is some road riding to link the off road bits.

Come along if you fancy it :)
  • Hi All,

Thanks to everyone who has answered my request, great to see I have caused some interest. I have been working weekends lately and have only had time to visit Dalby once. I will try and meet at Skidby one Sunday.

    Cheer's,

    Manny
