The silver one looks good but the 'Monaco' version looks like Westwood has pimped it.

I have a rust/brown one (the 2007 version) and it's a great bike. I've added bullhorn / TT bars and TT brakes and use it for my quick blasts when time is short. It seems to make me use about 20% more calories than my geared bikes.

  • Got my 2008 green 'un for 320 quid new so although the 2009 looks good i bet it's not worth 130 more.

Saw a Monaco in Bristol a few weeks back and had to spend 1/2 hour looking for it online. Makes me want to go roadie SS and ditch MTB SS.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

That's right, I guess that makes you around 40 if you were watching it at the same time as me along with Casey Jones and The Whirlybirds.

Bleurgh. "Looks better than ever" ... it looked fugly to start with. The new one just looks like a rubbish attempt at a Pista.
  • where can you buy the new silver one?
    I want one!!

The Monaco is a lovely looker IMO - one to go with my "russet" one (a Pearson's 99 quid f'set offer that I couldn't refuse) would be nice!
FWIW, I reckon that even for full price they are pretty nice bikes (altho' I can't really comment on stock bits as mine built from F&F only). Rides very well - even off-tarmac. Only downside is that no room for bigger tyres, never mind 'grds. It fits me so well that I also bought a Tricross Single (fixed!) to meet those requirements! The Tricross is I think (for my purposes) the 2nd best fixed I've owned (exact number escapes me but over a dozen or so).

Money or lack of. Can't see the dole office looking too favourably at a claim for a crisis loan cause I want to get a SS road bike
