edited October 2008 in MTB buying advice
just invested in the new Hope Vision 2 (Endurance) which really are the mutts nuts & not bad value from Wynstanley at £192 with the 2 batteries.
But why is it that every website you look on shows pictures of the old all black version & give the performance as only 300 lumens :x - even the Hope (less) website is out of date - their marketing dept needs a kick up the arse!!
I nearly didn't buy em cos I thought they were only 300 lumens but very glad I did.
NB: you don't get a stem mount either with the new model which a lot of websites are still showing

If anybody wants more info I can email the instruction manual

  • I've got the old ones and i've just ordered some new ones for my mate.
I thought they were the same in function but with a new case and plastic brackets?
What power are the new ones?

    id say!
The 300 version that i have is capable of flooding the road in the pitch black..
Kinda wish id waited for the 09 version now, but i did get this one cheap... ah well.

Easily! Just top up with a head mounted lamp and enjoy!
Old hockey players never die - they just smell that way...
  • My 300 version was easily good enough for a dusk till dawn race mounted on my head with no other light to boost coverage

  • Ive recently got the vision 4's and have to say am mega impressed so far, excellent brightness and very user friendy design, and great battery life too.
  • Thanks for clearing that up - got a Hope leaflet (correct picture and output levels) which is completely contradicted by the Hope web-site. Was a bit confused dot com :(

Thinking of a set of Hope 2s -will get from a local LBS - bit pricier but at least I'll know I'm getting the correct ones :D

Hope vison 2's are powerfull, but the beam doesen't seam to penetrate much into the difference, and if you angle it further forward you loose a lot of light that you need close up, and also the battery only last 2 hours on full? I looked at the Hope 4 which will last around 3-4hours on the same output as the Hope Vision 2, so for another £100, you are getting a better battery life + a lot more power when you need it most.
