Right quick one for you....

I'm picking up the Bianchi 1885 with Veloce in Celeste in the next couple of days and have ordered a set of Look Keo Sprint pedals.

Next is the shoes, now i'm not sure what the etiquette is with colours and brands etc but i don't want to look like an idiot when I eventually turn up at a club.

Obviously i've gone campag therefore are shimano shoes a big no no?, as a novice even i think that that would look a little naff.

I've also gone very odd wide shape feet ( normally measure 8 length ways but about a 10 width ways, meaning i normally wear size nines unless there not too slim ) any suggestions for wide brands?

And lastly, and this is very vain..... having looked at this pic any perfect matches for the bike? Would you agree with white to match the seat and bar tape? or black to match the wheels, or silver to match the crank??

Please all chip in i'm open to all suggestions - which could be cool if it starts off a huge debate!!!

Sidi do "mega" width shoes, Carnac do shoes which are quite wide as, in my opinion, do specialized.
Shimano shoes do come in wide fitting as well.
The usual advice is a size up from normal and go and try as many pairs on as possible before you buy

I'd go white, and DEFINITELY not Shimano if you ride Campag!

I ride a size 44 Sidi Mega (Genius 5.5 I think, which is black and silver only IIRC), usually wear size 9 (43) 'normal' shoes - similar to you I'm not really a size 9 but have to wear them most of the time because of my foot width.

If Shimano shoes are comfy - get them. Who gives a to$$ about what some Shimano/Campag fanboy thinks ?

Personally - I like Specialized shoes - for me they fit better than conventional Sidis. I hear the Mega are hard to find sometimes.

As to the tape - black is far easier to keep clean. White will soon be grubby and make the bike look old unless you are fastidious.

Northwave shoes are pretty good, but it's defintely a good idea to try shoes on - I'm a very wide size 8, meaning I have to take 9s in normal shoes, and 10s in trainers/boots/cycling shoes - I ordered some MTB shoes in 10s and they were slightly on the narrow side. Try some shoes on you won't regret it.

To be fair I'm a firm believer in Campag (one of the ones to convince you wasn't I?) - but I still use Shimano SPD-SLs and (although I don't have any) I reckon the shoes are pretty good.

There's no doubt that Campag make the best groupsets, but I don't see any problem in using Shimano for contact points.
