I was just wondering i am getting a carrera detonate for christmas and it comes with kenda tyres. I was wondering if i should kepp them or get Maxxis tyres instead?

  • Depends what tyres are on it, kenda make very good tyres and so do maxxis

I've had Kenda Nevegals, and am now running Maxxis highrollers.
Both very good tyres, (my new bike has Nevegals fitted as standard). My only real gripe with the Kenda is a thin sidewall. I've had them de-laminate off the carcass before now.
But, I do like the tyre.

Might even be a 20" kids version. but i am guessing the boys bike ages 9 and up.

Right, the only real answer is to keep the standard ones till they wear out?
