Hi guys, just got a new job, pays a lot better than my last one, so Ive decided to treat myself to a new bike. Been on the same GT iDrive for nearly 2 years now but feel I want some thing differnt. Do you think im getting one too soon? I'm looking at the Orange Crush but don't know anyone who has one. Any advice??
I didnt do it! I found it broken, honest!

  • hi Steve, I'm looking at the crush too the review is in this months MBUK, but the 09 model already has some sight changes details on leisure lakes web site. although my LBS has told me there delayed by about 2 months for some reason, although 08 models are going for as low as £800 online. I'm going to wait for an 09. Go on its never to soon for your next new bike.

Absolutley delighted with mine. Got mine as standard, except with Hope Hoops (the 5.1's) and a set of DMR V12's. It's not the lightest bike in the world, but can climb fairly decently. It completely eats downhills, and it really thrives for being thrashed. Perfect hardcore hardtail, and I think the spec for the money is bang on. Got mine for Leisure Lakes for £800, plus the wheels and pedals.

Any questions and I'll be more than happy to help. Looknig at the 09 spec, it barely differs from the 08, save maybe the wheelset. Seeing as I upgraded mine anyway, I see no reason to pick the 09 over the 08 when you can get the 08 for £799!
  • cheers nodnol, I agree about the wheels, it was just to let Steve88 have all the facts. I also wish I could get a bargin 08 but it's on the cycle to work scheme and the LBS are waiting for 09 stock but when it comes it will be getting my hope big un hubs laced to some new rims and slapped on the new beast cause they've last longer than my marrage.

  • I think Ill be waiting until after Christmas to get it so I might hold out for the 09. I'm not yet sure. depends on the my better half. the only thing I had a problem with the bike was actually the wheels. I would like to keep me Easton AM havoc's as they cost me over €500 (£400 I think) just hope they fit :P what go you think of putting a set of clip peddles on? or should I go with flats? atm I'm running both, depends how I feel on the day.

  • 2008 Crush is an awesome bike.

I absolutely love mine. Similar review as above really, its awesome on downhill and rough trails. Its not too heavy but you can tell you are riding uphill when you do!

Mine has stood up to so much battering, I've had a couple of offs on it and it just comes back for more.
