have an isis bottom bracket int he shed that was about toi be put inot some use but i'm a little concerned about the noise its making!!
hwen you hold it in your hand and spin the shaft you can hear it! its actually quite noisy! now my spare octalink one is quiet when you rotate the shaft,
i've sprayed lube around the ends as best i can and put some grease around the ends etc, but its still considerably noisy!
is it as i am thinking, shot??
ta in advance!

i dont know of any spray lube out there suitable for bearings. Bet you have washed all the grease out.
And some bearings can feel a bit rough before use.
Not happy dont fit it."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

hmmn, well was quite stiff as such before i lube'd it but the noise hasnt changed, so hadthought it was possibly a bit knackered!
umming and ahing over fitting as will be going in the carbon frame and that'll resonate like mad!
hmmn, time ot convince the wife for More bike parts haha!
thanks nick!Timmo.

just a quickie,
e-type bottom bracket, is it essentially the same with just a longer drive side cup?? as in a spacer required to take up the extra space if not using an e-type hanger???Timmo.

yes spacer needed or the cranks will be too close to the frame."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
