Hi guys, there is a new store opening in my area. The store is called Snow and Rock, I have read from their website that they have a pretty good Cycle department called The Cycle Surgery. As this is the first store to open in Ireland I am just wondering if any of you have use them and how good/bad they are? Any comments are welcome as the only other "bike shop" near me is Halfords (not very helpfull). All the rest are atleast 20-30 min away in the car (if the fraffic is light).
I didnt do it! I found it broken, honest!

If its the cycle surgery here in London they are usually pretty good stock carriers and can get you most things you want /need. It will in the end all boil down to how good their staff are. I hope they have some good ones as like anywhere there is the occasional grade A triple plus muppet working at some of these stores .
As for Snow and Rock, pretty much a one stop shop for your more mainstream outdoor sports like climbing, running, skiing, tramping etc etc
I have used S and R in London and cant complain about them at all. Had sound advice and as I always do my research first it was refreshing to deal with people who knew what they were talking about.Scott Ransom 10

They opened a CycleSurgery at Snow & Rock in Bristol
The prices are on par with most cycle shops and etailers and they do have some good quality bikes and stock items on hand too. In fact, I am quite a loyal customer to them - sure beats Halfords.
The only "issue" I have is that the CycleSurgery is more of a departmental boutique within Snow & Rock, so they don't have much space or a large selection due to Snow & Rock occupying most of the premier floor space
On the upside they also have a good workshop and a decent mechanic on hand too and getting two of my bikes booked in on short notice was no problem at all, unlike ZeroG in Downend, Bristol who need me to book two weeks in advance.0 -
Have bought a few bits from the Cycle Surgery in Manchester recently. No problems whatsoever. Particularly like their price match policy. Found the stuff I wanted cheaper on the internet went into the store and they matched the internet price. You get a good price and piece of mind that you are buying from a reputable store and can take it back if something isn't right
. Just note that the goods must be is stock wherever you find them online.

Snow and Rock bought out Cycle Surgery a while back so they can incorporate cycling into their portfolio. I think the bigger Cycle Surgery branches will remain standalone but the S&R stores will start to incorporate a small range of bikes on site.0

Steve 88 you dont have nothing to worry about Basically a couple of months
ago Snow & Rock bought out Cycle Surgery.
This was that being that they had all seasons covered and make money
throught out the year.
Also this ment they could put bikes in there shopes/warehouse stores.
Cycle Surgery as a company is baised in and around London.
And are a good to buy bikes from they give a good service too.
Basicaly your fine, buy with confidance.0 -
I often go to the Bristol S&R/Cyclesurgery as there's no other LBS's conveniently close.
My thoughts are:
- Decent range of bikes and accessories (most accessories are low-mid range stuff though)
- Staff help/knowledge seems to fall somewhere between Halfords and a proper LBS
- Confusingly they seem to operate as two separate shops (the energy bars are in the S&R section but you can't pay for them in the Cyclesurgery part and you can't pay for Cyclesurgery bits in the S&R part - although weirdly the Cyclesurgery tills weren't working the other day so I had to pay at an S&R till).
- Not cheap although comparative to LBS prices
- Devoid of any atmosphere, it's similar to Halfords in that you're aware your just supposed to buy stuff and move on rather stop and chat about stuff you'd normally do in an LBS0
