I am looking for a good bright yellow bar tape.
I do not want spongy gel tape. Is cork tape the description to look for?
Any recomendations on makes etc would be appreciated. :D

  • Carlsberg don't make cycle clothing, but if they did it would probably still not be as good as Assos
  • I've ordered the yellow from wiggle, not used it before though so can't recommend yet.

  • Mark,

I put the new bar tape on today, looks good. It could have been a little bit longer, but this may be due to my poor bar tape application skills.

I'll post some pics up tomorrow if you want.

  • I went to my local place yesterday to get some advice and ended up buying some. It was my first attempt at putting tape on and it went well considering. However, the left side is a little thcker than the right hand
This, in my opinion, is prety good :D

I always give the tape a really good stretch as I put it on, just wrapping it round always gives the impression if being too short and you have to be economical around the brakes. If you give it a good stretch you'll have enough for round the brakes and will end up cutting some off the end.

  • Gav,

I warmed it first, took the backing tape of and stretched it as I was putting it on.

Took several attempts before I was happy, so it had a fair bit of stretching.
