do you really want to do this?

both bearings are pressed in and will be in contact with a shoulder on the inside pressing on the inner race.

so removing the bearings requires pressure to be applied on the axle to press the bearing out from one side and this should be repeated on the other bearing.

It is always best to have new bearings on hand as bearings can and do fall to pieces. you will then need something to press the bearings back in afterwards.

A better bet would be to lift the bearing seals (again if you have not does this before and/or dont have spares) take care not to damage/bend them, flush out and re grease.

As above, remove the seal (i use a stanley knife blade to pop the outer edge out of the bearing. Flush out the old grease with alcohol / white spirit / petrol and when dry re-grease.
Carefully refit the seal and pop it back in place.

thanks for the quick responses, i had a quick go at trying to get the seal out but it feels like i'm going to bust it, though it was with a terminal screwdriver (smallest thing that came to hand), i'll try with a stanley blade tomorrow, carefully though
