    I have noticed a lot of talk about the change in training regimes. I don't personally think it has a great deal to do with what drugs are available to the riders, more the fact that cyclists trainmore specifically now, much like professional athletes. They don't ride all the year round in every race they can find, they pick their races building up to peak performance for the event that they have marked out as most important to them in the calendar year. That event of course differs for every rider as they all have different abilities.

    Most of the top GT contenders do target the Tour De France; hasn't Alberto already said he's targetting the Tour specifically next year? It's not just Lance who targets the Tour de France. It's the way the sport has gone.

  • Fook me I can't believe this thread was started. Don't bother with ranking GC s or whatever. just look at a riders palmares. Facts in black and white will show you who were the best riders :roll:
