Recommend me some lights, please!

As the nights start to draw in, I figure it's the ideal excuse to purchase some lights for off-road night-riding. I know this is a bit of a stupid request, but I would welcome some recommendations regarding what lights to buy.
It's the old 'catch 22' scenario. I would like the brightest, longest lasting set I can find, but I can't afford to be spending too much. So, with that in mind, has anyone got any recommendations? Ideally, I would not like to spend more than £120 (?)...but would I find anything worth it in that price bracket? I'd be looking to have at least 2 hours worth of riding. That said, I'd also need a helmet light too, wouldn't I?
