Foot cramp

Hi,
Have been doing some longer rides of late and have noticed that my left foot goes numb after about an hour. The numbness eventually goes after an hour or so, but it's really distracting. I'm wearing Exustar road shoes on a Look pedal, they don't seem overtight, any advice?

could be that the foot is not well enough supported?
Does it ache first in a particular area before going numb etc....? Might be the case that you just need a custom footbed/orthotic to better support the foot in the shoe - as you would do if you were wearing ski boots. As a road shoe has a rigid sole, it would be fine to use with one and i reckon would solve the problem.
hope that helps
