This coming Tuesday? 9pm sharp at Star and Garter Gate? Say - 3 laps at an easy training pace (you can't gun it after dark as you need to watch for deer)
Bring good lights!

Dammit, just realised I can't do Tues this week - Wed instead? :shock:0

Star and Garter Gate is another name for Richmond Gate as it is at the top of Star and Garter Hill. There's also the Royal Star and Garter homes for disabled ex-servicemen there.
Can't do tomorrow as I'm playing 5-a-side but it's the last week and I plan on putting in some 5 or 6 lap night sessions of RP (at ~25 minute pace) over the next few weeks.--
If I had a baby elephant signature, I\'d use that.0 -

Night sessions over the coming weeks sound good - 12hr MTB night ride next weekend so will be taking it fairly easy from this weekend until after that. Should be good to go from Tues 7th though 8)0 -
Cool, I'll be there this Tuesday in case any lurkers turn up. There's also a chance some of my clubmates will put in an appearance.0

:? One lap, solo. Mostly playing deer skittles. Maybe I need to rethink my Tuesday option on my training schedule.
Only saw 2 other cyclists, both riding together....anyone from here?0 -
Snuck out for a quick lap myself this evening - VERY last minute so apologies it wasn't posted up!
Said hello to a few people - I was going anti-clock and there must have been between 3 and five going the other way 8)
I'm used to seeing rabbits on my MTB night rides - almost ploughing into deer is an interesting experience, and you seem to get some extra power from somewhere when the stag starts making noises... :shock:0 -
Rich-Ti you probably said hello to me tonight, sorry i had my ipod on so didn't hear . I was wearing white leggings.0

Yup, probably did! Not to worry tc, plan to be in their fairly regularly on weekday evenings so there'll always be another time! 8)0

Just wondered as I have a rather *ahem* rubbish light set which is okay to be seen but not do any seeing with, what sort of light does one need to do some night riding.
I found this, and wondered if it falls into the just adequate category, or the overkill category...

p.s. dont think I will use it for commuting as it looks like too much hassle to put on and off the bike.0 -
After my MTB race this coming weekend I'll be using one of these as it won't be needed on my MTB for a while:

That way I hopefully won't ever have any issues running into deer!0 -

In best Irish accent 'Beejaysus'...thats some serious lightage
Seriously though - any advice on a minimum light spec or suggestions of model of light would be helpful. Cheaper the better and yes I know you get what you pay for...0 -

Not doing the 12hr MTB race now as my lift has dropped out (hence my reply on the other thread about riding this weekend )0 -

Dunno if they will be any good but they didn't break the bank, so either way worth a try...0 -
I'm sure that'll be more than good enough Felgen.
I'm now fully kitted out with my Exposure Enduro MaXx off my MTB so apologies if I blind anyone over the coming weeks! :roll:0 -
I gave it a go and it is pretty good, though one of the bulbs blew pretty quickly (trip to Maplin needed!) the battery weighs a bit, but thats more exercise for me!0
