    Tried contacts?

I did last year purely for riding and Ive never looked back...(joke there somewhere!)....

Means I can wear my oakleys or protective glasses without worrying about dodgy vision.

  • I don't recommend go sports, i bought a pair of rudy project prescription glasses from them a few years ago. After a fall I broke the arm on one side. Can I get go sports to sell me a new arm? will they answer my emails about it?

    no.

I do recommend optilabs, much better sales advice and after sales service.

Its an option. I've regularly used the daily ones but I found them uncomfortable. I have no idea how I would get on with them on a bike. You referring to the throw away ones or the permanent ones ?

  • Vision Express do Oakleys and a few others, which I cannot remember offhand. Lady was doubtful they could do my prescription in Oakleys. Not really too keen on the Adidas style. The "Herr Flick" lens under the outer lens, had the same style in the old S6 respirator (military) strange focal length. Think I might just resort to some big Eric Morecambe style plastic jobs

Liam have you tried different brands of contacts ?.
I tried loads of different types before I found the right ones.
Most were like sand in my eyes but one brand I didn’t know they were in.
A good optician will have a range for you to try.

Or do as I did and get laser surgery.
    Far better.

I use the Focus Daily Disposables, took me some time to get used to them, but now theyre great.

How long was you using disposables for?

There are new brands which are wetter and therefore more comfortable and will be giving those a go when my current batch run out.

I get mine from Lensway via mail order - very cheap!

  • same as above, I went for contacts as perscription oakleys would mean I would have to sell my wife and kids (not my bike) they are quite pricey.
Daily disposables work out about 70p so not bad really. and if you have a decent optician you will get comfy ones.
  • Try these people http://www.optilabs.com/ I have a pair of their prescription photochromic glass which I can use in all conditions and they're excellent.

I was using them periodically over a couple of years.

Found they came out to easily and they were just really irritating to my eyes.

I will give the website a try though, thanks !

i use contact lenses whist riding.....sometimes wear normal cycling googs too, or googles for dh.

I tried in prescription glasses, but find my field of vision is much bigger in contact lenses....i.e. my eyesight does not stop at the rims of the glasses.

That makes sense I suppose, although I'm not sure how much of a full field of view I need when I'm riding down a narrow trail. Thanks though guys. Think I will explore finding some more comfy contacts.
