After a hell of a season it must be said.

So, who'se going to take the 'and one other' slot? (I'm sat by the phone but Mr Brailsford seems to have lost my number).

Shame that. He is clearly our most successful rider on the road and I was looking forward to a worlds where he is involved and we might have some team tactics other than helping the Italians.

I hope this isn't going to fan the flames of disquiet about his relationship with either Bradley Wiggins or Brailsford.

(although I accept I have just mentioned it !)

Far be it for me to stir the pot, but you have to wonder what the communication between the two camps is like when they announce the team on Wednesday and Cavendish pulls out on Thursday. Did they even ask if Cavendish wanted to ride or not? It seems not!

But I think it's the right choice. Hard season, wrong course, pointless going.
  • I was thinking the same thing. There's no doubt that if he fancied his chances on the course he'd have prepared for it better. After all a world champs placing is gonna be a little better on your plamares than a stage win in Missouri.

It's a shame but I'm not going to criticise his decision.

Cav will be World Champ in 2011. The course is around Copenhagen, not the hilliest of places.

It's not exactly surprising, he would have suffered no end, for no reason. Does make you wonder why they put him in the team though.
You live and learn. At any rate, you live
