Hmm - from the Knog page - "This is a safety light and should be used in conjunction with a regular rear light."

I figure that's a "so we can sell in the US" type of statement.

I tend to have an array of lights on my bike in the winter. Interestingly (pre DiNotte) I was followed the last few years home by a neighbour with one of these in my helmet (fnarr) and he made a point of commenting how visible it was. Poss because it was at an unusual height. But look, this guy managed to accidentally drive into his own house once, so, you know, if he could see the light it can't have been too bad....

Here's a good tip, I've got a HI-VIZ helmet band ( wiggle have them ) and on the back I clip a rear light.

At present I use a Blackburn 3.0 or Blackburn Mars 4.0 , there is a substantial increase in the amount of room vehicles give me when they overtake when I use it.

I suppose you could utilise a thick cable tie to clip a rear light to , I'll post a photo (or vid) later.

Interesting how they've used a 2800maH battery that is very close to a AA size but not the AA size itself.

Given that you can get 2800+maH AA quite easily and for which you would not need a bespoke charger AND have a backup standard AA battery in case of trouble

Or have I missed something? :?

The 18650 battery puts out 3.7v rather than 1.4 of an AA
