Can someone explain what all the fork ajustment are for?

hi guys im about to buy a specalized hock hopper with dart 3 rockshoxs on board
what does it mean about preload, and all the other termanolagy

    Preload: used to set the fork to the correct sag (the amount the fork compresses under your static weight)

    Rebound: used to control how fast/slow the fork rebounds from a bump

    Lockout: used to lock the fork (most lockouts allow 10mm or so of travel) great for climbing or road work. Can also have a remote lock out attached to the bars with some forks)

    Compression: used to alter the rate at which the fork compresses under load

    Floodgate: alters the amount of force needed to unlock a fork which is locked out

    Your fork probably doesn't have all of these, but they are all the adjustments you can get on forks.

    preload-preloads the spring to allow the sag to be set.

    BUT to be honest go to Srams webby and down load the manual and have a read.
