I got these shoes - http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/Cycle/7/Pearl ... 360029374/

and these pedals 'cause they said they were SPD compatible and so are the shoes...

Can't get them to fit, what the heck am I doing wrong? Do I have to get one of those pad things to attach them to?

Sorry for the completely noob question but I'm really stuck.

It looks to me like its a mistake on the shoe page. Three bolt is for road shoes - SPD SL compatible but not SPD which are two bolt. I'd give Wiggle a ring - it's their mistake they should pay the return postage.
  • you have to attach the clip that came with the shoes then they should fit

Oh no :(, thankyou though :D

Nick, it didn't come with any :(
  • Can you post a picture of the sole? Does it just have three holes in a triangle or are there two slots as well? If you've just got three holes, then it's not SPD, if you've got the two slots, then you're just not doing it right!

Can't tell from the shoe picture but it would appear that you have a 2 bolt cleat setup
and those shoes are made for a 3 bolt setup. Are there only 3 holes in the bottom, in a
triangular pattern? If so you have the right shoes, wrong pedals, or vice versa.

It's got both, it seems like the screws aren't long enough and the three screws already in there get in the way of the cleat, dunno if I should take them out or not.

    Me=Completely clueless.

3 screws already in there? In the triangular spaced holes? With those pedals it's the center 2 holes(slots) that you want. The triangular ones don't get used.

Yeh, do I just take them out?
  • Now the screw won't go in the front hole in the longest slot  someone make it workkkkkkk!

Take the 3 triangular screws out. The pedals cleats should have come with their own screws.
Which may or may not be long enough. Those type of shoes can be difficult as far as screw length is concerned. When I refer to those type of shoes I mean ones that are
made to use both 3 and 2 bolt pedal systems. Like yours. I have had screw length issues
with a set or two that I owned.

I can just imagine the story he'll tell

I stopped for a comfort break against some garden wall, next thing I see someone coming out of the house brandishing a shoe and a screwdriver. "I'm done for" I think. ....
