Hi
I have had a Dawes Tamarak mountain bike for a couple of years now. To be fair I haven't used it much at all over that time. I have just started to get into the whole riding thing as my wife has recently purchase a bike as well.
Anyway the first few times I have been out I keep getting punctures. I was wondering as I hadn't used the bike for a while the tyres have become fragile? Also is this slime thing I have heard about any good, or puncture proof tyres perhaps?
Cheers
Nik

Hi Nik
As with most rubber items, it will perish after time but you should be able to see the evidence of that with cracks on the sidewall usually. The slime tubes are good for small punctures (up to 3/4mm apparently), and as long as weight isnt an issue, can be a handy bit of kit. May be worth getting some new tyres and inner tubes in one, you could probably do that for £40-50 for both front and rear.
What type of riding do you do? Mainly off-track, cyle paths, road or other?0 -
Hi TheRevOlutionary
Thanks for that!
I do a little off road, ie through woods etc, but nothing heavy. Mainly canal paths and old rail tracks.
I have seen these
