poor decision to leave him out0

It does seem quite strange. He's not even one of the two reserves.
Can't say I'm displeased though...0 -
Rebellin & Bruseghin (but then I am Venetian, just give me an eyetie without a vowel at the end of his name and I'm happy!) - have either of them ever been associated with doping?0
-
Rebellin has (oil for drugs & Saccutini (sp) as I remember?)
Hopefully not Marzio as he's my favorite rider.___________________

its a scandal Di Luca has been dropped from the team. he and his team rode a superb Tour of Britain. i see they have included Bruseghin and Cunego ??? eh what have results have they had this year ? at Least Di Luca would have been there at the finish of a Hardmans race anybody that wins Liege Bastogne Liege should make the team for a tough course. the guy does not sit in the bunch at least he attacks. poor show from Ballerini - i hope Cancellara wins now.0

Cunego won Amstel Gold - pretty good qualifications for a hilly Worlds course I'd say0

Rebellin was put on trial for sporting fraud charges in 2003. The Italian police (allegedly) had wiretap and video footage of him injecting himself with something.
I guess they couldn't prove what that something was, because the charges were eventually dropped.
As Calvjones says, he was also a client of Ali the Chemist (Dr Santuccione).
Having said that, you could pretty much point at any Italian cyclist over 30 and find a drug investigation somewhere.0 -

You can have only so many captains in a team - always the problem for the Italians at the worlds. There's four now already and picking more riders like Di Luca (and what about Pozzato!!) that would not see themselves riding as domestiques would not help them... You could argue about picking Cunego over Di Luca or Pozzato, but Cunego did win the Amstel Gold Race this year, and Di Luca, uhm, the KoM of the ToB... :roll:0

According to this months ProCycling, Emmanuelle Sella was supposed to have sung like a canary in front of CONI and, according to his manager, some very dramatic revelations would be, errr, revealed before the Worlds this year. Maybe something is in the offing....
The reality is probably that Ballerini has identified Bettini as their prime candidate for the Worlds and is not sure that DiLuca or Pozzato would necessarily toe the line.'This week I 'ave been mostly been climbing like Basso - Shirley Basso.'0 -
Great to see Tosatto in the team! He's had a pretty top notch Vuelta. Very experienced rider!Note: the above post is an opinion and not fact. It might be a lie.0

It looks a good team for me! I can't wait for them all to fall out and let a Spaniard win0
