Cannondale Six13 choice between models
I have ridden the Six13 and love the way the frame handles. The choice is between the following at the same price.
a) Six13 Team 105 Compact Drive 35th Anniversary LTD 2 2007, with FSA 34/50 chainrings, Cannondale Si bottom bracket with carbon cranks, 12/27 cassette, Mavic Aksium wheels and FSA finishing kit.
b) Cannondale SIX13 Ultegra SL Compact 2008, complete SL kit including bottom bracket, same gearing ratios as above but with Mavic Ksyrium wheels and Cannondale finishing kit.
Any thoughts on the relative merits of either?

I'd go for choice a), but i'd then change the wheels. The Cannondale bottom bracket is the clincher in my mind.0

I've got a six13 and am well impressed with it.
I agree with the above post re the cannondale bb and crankset. Ok so the wheels are not as good as Ksyriums and ultegra is one step up from 105, but imho fsa finishing kit is better than cannondales.
I eventually swapped the carbon crankset for the alu hologram one (53/39) cos tha\t sizing suits me better and the cannondale hologram chainset is one of the best around. It was just an easy swap onto the cannondale bb30 bb.>^..^<0 -
Thanks MarkMcp and y tin, I rode a) on Saturday and it picks up in a sprint like a rocket. It's actually got a 53/39 on it right now but I'm not sure my knees can take the strain after being used to a triple.
Wasn't too sure about about Cannondale bb replacement in the future (I have a habit of hanging on to gear - 15 year old mtb and windsurfing gear going back to when they were like barges ). So I feel reassured about that.
I love the brushed alu/carbon of a) and am on the verge, but was just womdering what the Ultegra set-up of b) would feel like in comparison.
I have the option of changing the wheels at point of sale of course and wonder if you have any recommendations?

I've got the Six13 Team Ultegra, same as the 105 Team but obviously Ultegra throughout plus Ksyrium Elite wheels.
I've done about 1300 miles on it and it's been great. I think you'll enjoy yours a lot.
I'm so impressed I just bought a CAAD9 Cyclocross SL for commuting and winter riding, all alu frame with carbon forks and 105 throughout. First ride to work this morning, and even better than I expected.
I do like Cannondales!

Thanks beancounter for your contribution.
I've gone for a) and decided to go with the Aksiums for the winter and see what next year brings, not a difficult decision really once I'd researched the technology and got the help of you three.

Picked it up tonight and went for a quick spin and yes it was quick. I'm particularly impressed with the transfer of power from cranks to rear wheel.
Another Cannondale fan.
Thanks once again for contributions.0
