My Bike Giant SCR2

Hiya, Just new to cycling, and chose a giant Scr2. However. I know pretty little about the mechanics of a bicycle. I've had the bike back to the shop a couple of times to get adjusted, etc as I'm aware they bed in, etc. One thing that seems to concern me is that when I cycle and need to put exert a little more force on the pedals going uphill etc, it feels like there is movement or a slight clank coming from the front crank? I've mentioned it to the shop they tightened it up, and reckon its ok, but still happening?? I'd like to be able to service the bike, etc myself so any advice would be appreciated.
THanks Darren

Welcome to the forum. If you do a search on here you'll find some people have had similar issues with their Giants. It could be a lose chain ring, pedal or even the bottom bracket problem.
If your bike was bought from new and under guarantee then I would take it back to the shop. If you don't know what your doing I wouldn't try a DIY fix and nor are you expected to on a new bike.Specialized Venge S Works

Lots of information on the Park Tools website on how to repair bikes and carry out simple maintenance. Try checking your pedals yourself and if they're fine get the shop to check the bottom bracket again.
Incidentally what type of pedals are you using?Steve C0 -
Have changed the pedals to support clip on cycling shoes. Shimano ones. It was doing it prior to me changing the pedals. I got it checked at the shop at the same time. i then got the clip ons for doing a sponsored cycling and made sure they were tight. Two thirds into the cycle the bike started making the same clink again. I'll take the advice and return to shop, altho will have a look at that site re bike info as would like to be able to maintain bike myself, especially in future when I'm sure I'd like to amend/improve the bike. thanks.0

If it's the bottom bracket creaking under load it's not exclusive to Giants, I've known of this happening on any number of bikes. If the shop are good sorts they should know what to do.
Unless you're naturally inclined to these things the best way to learn spannering skills is to learn off someone who can do it already. However, websites like the Park one above are a good substitute, and the things you do more frequently (chain maintenance, cleaning, cable adjustment) are easy enough.Aspire not to have more, but to be more.0
