Hi everyone, bit of newbie so be kind
I've got a £200 Claud Butler Mtb, was all I could afford at the time.
I'm looking to change the 26 x1.95 knobblies for Slick road tyres, that are lighter weight & fast, will be replacing the wheels eventually as well. Bike will see road use virtually all of the time.
I'm looking at the Specialized AT Pro 26 x1.00

Will this fit onto my rims, or are there any better tyres out there?

the continental ultra gator skin is meant to be pretty good, someone I know rates them very highly.
As for size, whats your rim width?0 -
How do I find out my rim width, i it stamped on the wheel or do I need to measure it.
Sorry it thats seems a bit of a stupid question, just trying to find my feet and learn as I go.0 -
It probably won't be that easy to determine internal rim width without removing the tyre and measuring. It's likely to be 17mm though (or possibly 19mm).
If you have 17mm rims, then you shouldn't be looking at tyres of less that 1.5 x 17mm = 1" and for 19mm rims, not less that 1.5 x 19mm = 1.125"0 -
Internal width is 19mm Whel has the ETRTO 19 x 559, measures at 19mm as well
So does this mean the 26" x 1.00 tyre I linked to my first post won't fit?
If not can anyone recommend a light fast slick tyre that will fit.0
