Ribble ....credit where its due

I have to say Ribble have really turned their fortunes around in recent times.
I have ordered from them three times recently and each time the items were either dispatched the same day or the next and delivered within 48 hours of placing the order
. Packing was perfect with a waterproof outer bag in case it had to be left out in the rain .
The items were all correct and in perfect condition and very competitively priced.Confirmation emails were sent to confirm and thank me for my order and contact information easy to find
I couldn't recommend them too highly and they are now my first call when I need parts.

I've seen a lot of bad stuff about them on this website, whether it be delivery, or getting the wrong products in the post, or sometimes getting faulty products. Haven't heard much good stuff about them.0

I know thats why I thought I'd say when they get it right.
I think most critism is a hang over from a few years back when they got a terrible service record.
Havn't heard much bad about them this year.0 -
My Ribble frame arrived pretty quickly - well-packaged with tons of bubble wrap covering the frame, separate open-covered cardboard around the forks and brown tape to keep the headset top and bottom (and a nice box) - they seemed to do a reasonably concientiuos job by the look of it - speedy enough delivery and well-packaged - pleased with that particular transaction with them.They did take well over a week to deliver some tyres though.0

Isn't that basically standard for an online company? I've used many online cycle firms and recently placed my first order with Ribble. No complaints - delivery a bit slow considering all items were in stock (ordered Wed am received Monday pm).
They must have been really bad in the past!
I like probikekit and use them in the first instance thesedays.0 -
I have used them a few times and had a good service from them.
Mind you these were for sub £100 orders.
I would not trust them for larger purchases i.e bikes0 -
ive use ribble quite alot as im local to their shop. They've definately improved the service within the last year, most of my little orders(tyres etc) arrive within 48hrs, and i bought a winter frame a month ago, ordered it online sunday night, and it arrived friday morning, well packed. Im happy with their service and will continue to use them, especially because their prices are really competitive with the other online companies eg wiggle, CR etc"Give An Inch...Make A Friend"0

Ribble seem to have come on in leaps and bounds since they started up the online shop - presumably in the ultra-competitive world of online retail they realised they had to be good at their job or else sink without trace, so I guess their mail order service as a whole got a big boot up the backside which has improved the service no end.

I've had really promt well packaged service from them too.It's the buy over £50 worth of stuff you dont really need/afford to get the discount i don't like ....or do i? :? Clever bstrds.0

Another thumbs up for Ribble. Ordered a winter frame and it was here within a couple of days, well packaged and with the headset attached.
Not bad considering they say frames may take 8 days for delivery.
Just hope the parts I ordered this morning come as quickly!!0 -

Not sure its normal at all. I have had packages take much longer from Chain reaction and they are only 40 miles from my house!!
I think there can be differences in companies and also depending on what is happening at a given time.
Probikekit has always been quick delivery but quite often dont have the items I require in stock, Same with Chain Reaction.
Has anyone else noticed that the stock holdings seem to be less recently??0 -

Chain Reaction are normally the fastest of the lot, even coming from Northern Ireland 95% of the items I order come next day.

I've never found play.com that bad, especially coming from the Channel Islands.
In order of fastest to slowest delivery times of the major sellers:
Probikekit (next day)
CRC (next day)
Wiggle (free del normally next day, but not always)
Ribble (A couple of days)
Parkers (free del - ages - but their customer service is normally the best of the lot)
Total Cycling (Pay for delivery but still takes ages)
So OK, I suppose Ribble aren't too bad at delivery, but they aren't anything special, but their prices are the lowest.0 -
I bought a load of stuff frm ribble recently and it all came either the next day, or the day after if I order late as night.0
