Can you actually straighten a slightly wonky wheel, or should you just go to a service place and get it done properly?

Mine is out by 1mm and is rubbing on the mudguard

    Easier to take it to the LCS imo, especially if you've never trued up a wheel before. I did it once with my old bike and then last year with my fathers but they were cheap and nasty wheels so it didnt matter if I damaged them

    Well, if you've not straightend a wheel before and try to take a 1mm buckle out fully expect a 10mm buckle about 10 seconds after you start!

    Take it to the LBS, or you could always go on one of these:
