Bought my bike back in 23 Feb 08 and 5 weeks down the line my Fox RP 23
collapsesOnly riding the bike Once a week mind.
Blamed by MOJO for using Hope Sh it Shifter even though I put two squirts
of it in a bucket of water then put on the bike and clean it of with water
Not on the bike neat
Now today out for 5 mins and Collapses again and since the last time I wash the
bike in plain old English water.
Just what can the excuse be now apart from my rights in wanting a brand new
SHOCK.
Apparantly this was a common problem with this shock in 2007 thats what
Orange had told me and thought they had sorted it out?
Dont tink they have.
Anyone else had this and how was it resolved.

Mine collapsed at the bristol bike fest (cost me what would ave been my quickest lap!) but it was because I left the valve cap off - it's been fine since - sorry to hear!0

Not had trouble with the RP23 but my Float Triad stuck down twice, Mojo fixed FOC both times, never mentioned the cause.
I believe removing the aircan cures it, but it goes off like a gun so watch the threads! O r amybe send it back to be safe!0 -
Or just send the thing to tf tuning and get it pushed, they'll probably do a better job of putting it together.

True but it does mean he gets a better shock back, plus mojo have already failed one attempt at fixing it.The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.

If you purchased the bike this year it is still under warranty.
e-mail Orange if it's your 5 AM and explain the problem. They are usually a good company and should replace it. Two problems with a shock like that and I would want a new one.
Kepp the thread updated with how you get on.
My RP23 is working really great after a year with nothing but cleaning, so yours should be the same.0 -
Thanx for replys Will keep you updated I will be calling Monday and also
Orange and the shop.
Thank you0 -
What ever you do don't let them con you that using a bike specific cleaner has destroyed your shock (particularly if you use it the way you described). I've used Muck Off & Sh1t shifter liberally on all my bikes for the last couple of years and never had a problem and I suspect that would be the case for many people on here, don't regularly have people on here complaining their shocks have collapsed and most of us use some form of cleaner / degreaser. It's easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission.
I've bought a new bike....ouch - result
Can I buy a new bike?...No - no result0
