so me and the missus cycled along to watch some of stage six today,i picked a good little spot on a local hilly bank in bedlington.after waiting for an hour or two a small crowd had gatherd and everyone was really looking forward to seing some action.and low and behold we saw some action even before the riders got there, now its a nasty little bank with some sharp turns, someone should have told the police motorcylist from strathcylde as he took one of the turns far to fast and ended up on his arse on the opposite side of the road luckily he missed us spectors and he was unhurt .i took some pics of the motorbike and i'll try and post them somewhere.

So was it any good?I was hoping to take and extended lunch break, as I work just down the road at Barrington ind. est. but the boss was having none of it
Still with a bit of luck the local news should have some decent coverage later tonight.0 -
it was awsum, but the motorbike crash happened seconds before the riders came along so we were all abit shook up and trying to slow all that came along after,i thought watching them on the bank might slow them down abit,as if they were flying up there .my mates into his potography and he got some great pics i'll try and post them when i get them.dafty d0

I was watching on the bridge at Bedlington just before the right turn up through the trees.
So where did the police motorcyclist go down?
I remember thinking when the first copper came past that he must not have been local considering the speed he tried getting round the bend.
Cant believe i missed it!0 -
watched it at the Gateshead end of the swing bridge, was very dull, bunch of cyclists rode past, very quickly.
Mind you, I go faster than that when I go along Walker Road on me way to work.
lots of friction between white van men who got stopped by some over zealous marshalls, which was mildly amusing.
the time they finished going up Dean and Grey street was much better. Need to finish with a few laps of a circuit to make it worth the effort.
malcolm elliott is amazing though0 -

On Stage 3 one of the advance Police bikes went up a hill faster than I've seen anything go up there before. I'm not suprised one of them crashed. So much for advanced drivers0 -
Saw 2 different methods of crossing a cattlegrid on a motorbike from police riders today.
Method 1)
Slow Down and take it easy
Method 2)
Lots of gas and a floating front wheel
Made it a fair distancew past that before the opening car came a long. Painfulyl close to the real climb, only walked from sAnquhar because I thought I woudl struggle to get a booknig for the bike on the trains. Next Year....Do Nellyphants count?

Dull? Perhaps a little. A day off work, got to watch a group of blokes many thousands of times more capable on a bike than myself, a couple of pints in the Crown Possada and resisted the urge to buy some expensive kit.0 -
I'm used to seeing footage....
well here's some to make up for it:
