Got my next road race on Sunday and a friend has asked me to wear her chain thingy for luck and to keep me safe. I am not superstitious and don't do things like that and I don't want to wear it but on the other hand who knows what may happen if I do well and she thinks its down to her?? Or what happens if I crash and she thinks its down to her?

I may have to be creative when I see her depending on how well I do :?

    ...wear it... and be flattered that she cares about you...

    Tell her that if she really is worried about your safety and wishing you luck then she has to do the following:-

    :lol::lol:
    Read and summerise your horoscopes from 5 newspapers/magazines on the day (Maximum 10 word summary to be submitted after the race)

    Find one ladder to walk under whilst carrying 3 rabbits feet in her pocket and then talk French (could be chinese if you are feeling really cruel) to at least one black cat.
    I then hope she will scoff saying that is ridiculous:

    At which point you hand back the Medallion saying, "so if you don't believe in it...... why am I doing this?"

    Problem solved! :lol::lol:

    Surely the only question is what kind of relationship you have with this "friend" and what kind of relationship you'd like to have.

  • Let me get this straight. You'd like to take her athletic capabilities to new peaks and you're thinking of not wearing it? Where is the logic :?:
  • Just wear it if you like, if it breaks then tough luck for the person who told you to wear it I suppose.
  • Oh sod it I am going to wear the damn thing according to some it will offer more protection than my helmet :roll:

    Mmmm... horizontal is good

    I'll have to wear my jersey open so she can see it glinting in the sun as I whizz past sending her heart all a flutter 8) 8)
    well it might be glinting in the rain if Sundays forecast is anything to go by but you get the idea.

    Stick it in your pocket, then when you solo to victory across the line, whip it out (oo er!) and blow kisses to your friend!

    Your relationship won't last much longer if she discovers that she's the topic of internet gossip, so be a gentleman and don't tell all.

    Oh, and well done in the race.
    This post contains traces of nuts.
  • Got to say it was all a bit rough and tough yesterday, these cat 3 boys don't take any prisoners I hate to think what its going to be like when I am on the TdF :roll:
