Weirdly I found myself hoping it'd rain heavily on my commute tonight, properly rain. It's looking pretty steady right now but I want to get WET. And not just cos the Focus really needs a wash
*edit - I am not having the word "wee-wee" in one of my posts ffs!0 -
Other option is tube/train combo. Swap rain for skank. I choose rain.FCN 2-4.

"It stays down, Daddy."
"Exactly."0 -
I find it fun!
BD, i thought you didn't like the rain? Or did you just feel like a wuss after nobody agreed?

My only other option rather than bike is tube/bus so I know without doubt where I'd rather be. Besides with the right kit it's easy really.
Come on man up and stay out of your car. Once you get used to it it's easy!Roadie FCN: 3

BD? Is that me?
I don't like the rain normally, and I definitely don't like it if I'm on my way somewhere. But if I'm heading home, and my journey's not too long, and it's not too cold, then it's okay, and today for some reason I positively hope it'll p!ss down. But it's already drying up - just drizzle now which is no fun for anyone.0 -
Rain isn't too bad, wind and rain is the killer.

Bike the main option for me - don't have parking at work. Bit fed up with the rain, but hey ho.....0

i dont mind rain, its the wind i really hate, unless its a tail wind haha0

I dont mind the rain either. If you're in cycle wetgear it doesnt matter. If I'm walking somewhere the only thing I dislike is stupid drivers splashing up puddles (anyone see the news? Thought I was gonna get into a fight last week after two vans splashed me)
Cycling in rain is easy, though it does seem to short circuit some drivers I notice. :?0 -
I don't mind riding in in the rain, it's the sitting around in wet clothes all day that bothered me. I took a change of clothes but my pants were soaked (with rain!) all day. I think whipping them off and sticking 'em on the radiator in the office might be crossing the line.Bianchi Via Nirone Veloce/Centaur 20100

I would have to agree with the comments on wind [Thats the weather not the after effects of too much Guinness !!]
Rain is ok as long as you have the right gear on., but windy conditions can be dangerous like tonight on my way home i was nearly blown into the path of a truck.
Ended up getting off the bike for a short stretch as most motorists can't or won't anticipate cyclists being subject to side winds..Commuter Surosa Toledo S34 Audax

In truth i love them both0 -
Riding home in the rain is better as I know there is a warm shower a few minutes after I get home, then the sorting out of the pile of wet clothesI've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0

Thoroughly enjoyed the commute home in the wet this evening. Having said that it wasn't really heavy rain, the wind wasn't bad and it was still warm - I didn't feel the cold and I only had shorts and a short sleeved bike jersey on!
As other people have said getting wet doing something I enjoy easily beats staying dry doing something I hate!0 -
My morale took a dip today when it rained all afternoon, and soaked me to the skin on the way home from work. I don't mind it occasionally but it seems every day now I'm battling foul conditions.0
