Hi!
I'm pretty new to this forum, but was wondering if anyone could help...
I'm looking at buying a new Merlin Malt 2, and have decided on everything appart from the discs. Shimano SLX are specced as standard, but for £25 i could upgrade to Hayes Stroker Trails. Has anyone any thoughts, or experiences with either?
Many Thanks, as soon as ive decided, i can get back out on the trails!!!

Both are good brakes, best bet is to be a bit tarty and buy the one you like the look of best!
Not used the SLX brakes, but have Hayes Stroker trails on my hardtail- they are specced on my new bike (coming soon) which I am happy about as they are a great brake. Handle the longer descents without fade, (Peak district) have great power, and good modulation.0 -
Cheers,
I'm must admit I'm tempted by the Hayes, and they do look pretty cool in white...!0 -
I use Hayes Stroker Trails and they're pretty good, probably not any better than SLX but might be a bit lighter (I got them due to the colour though ).0
