Sending a wheel?

What's the best way? I need to return a wheel to Ribble to get fixed.

I was planning on just taking it to the post office, but would I be able to get it insured for the £250/£300 that the wheel is worth?

Can I take it to the Post Office and get it sent by "Parcel Force" from there?

  • Ask your LBS if they have any suitably-sized boxes knocking around.

Parcel Force quite cheap, they offer insurance too but I'm not sure what level. Best ask at the PO, as you said.

firstly can't ribble pick it up using their carrier?

Post Office will do Parcelforce and RM Standard Parcels with additional compensation up to £250

you can now pay for Parcelforce online at www.parcelforce.com and they will come and collect from you,

you can also pack it yourself and use parcel2go.com

I have sent frames, wheels etc using them and they are quite good as they use City link and DHL - I also think they have a standard £300 insurance cover but not I could be wrong.

Now this is why Ribble get a bad name for their customer service...

I asked their recommendation for sending the wheel back and this is the reply I got:
Its up to you really, until we receive the wheel it is your property. Thanks,

W@nkers, they could have made a proper reply, I don't care how cheap they are the more I deal with them the more they seem like tw@ts.

It really sucks that some people have issues with them.. I ordered a hand built from them last Tuesday and I emailed them yesterday and they replied within 4 hours saying

"This arrived back on Friday and should be with you by Wednesday."

The wheel arrived today so I am stoked I can use it for training tomorrow :)

Hope you get your dilemma sorted Red :o

I never had any problems until the stuff started to break.

I've had stuff break that I'd bought from other online retailers, and not had a problem with getting stuff sorted, Ribble just give a damn after you've paid the money.
