Hi, first time post!!

I am looking for advice on a good, reasonably priced tyre for Yorkshire XC riding this winter. Currently on Bontrager Jones XR tryres which were pretty treacherous last weekend on the Leeds/Liverpool canal towpath between Skipton to Keighley!

Bike setup: 17" Gary Fisher Tassajara, 100mm travel fork on 26" rims

Cheers.

  • Thanks mhuk, I'll search the forums next time before posting!

Bontrager Mud-X look like the business with 5-star rating here on Bikeradar.

Maxis Medusa - 2.1 large carcass mud tyres fast rolling, great grip and bigger than the mud X, got me through everything last winter, and work ok on the rare bits of hardpack too

Nobby nics - 2.1 or 2.25 - expensive but great allrounders, very light (<600g for 2.25)super fast rolling, very grippy and clear everything but deep sticky mud, still running my 2.25's but recent downpoor means will switch over. get the expensive ust or anti snakebite versions if you want to run low pressre though, sidewalls are thin
  • Anyone tried Maxxis Swamp Thing tyres?
