Attention Conti GP 4000s users

I have noticed two small holes on my conti's. The holes are in exactly the same place on both tyres about 9" before the start of the lettering and are on the top (i.e. the part that hits the road) they are about 1.5mm dia and about 1mm deep and about an inch apart. Has anyone else got these holes? Is it a design flaw or are they there for a reason?

Do not worry. These holes are in fact wesr indicators and are part of the manufacturing process.0
