Interesting : Armstrong re-enrolled himself into the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency’s out-of-competition testing pool prior to August’s Leadville Trail 100 mountain bike race , where he finished second to Dave Wiens, said USA Cycling chief operating officer Sean Petty.

Hmmm - he must be up to something ?

  • I truly hope so, i'm planning on taking in some of the tour next year and to see Lance riding would be quite frankly awesome.
When does the route get released? does anybody know?
  • Maybe he's thinking of going MTB full time?

Maybe he enjoyed the Leadville more than he thought he would?

Maybe he did better than he thought he would?

Maybe it's all BS and he just fancied something different?

I'd love to see him on the MTB circuit....give Absalom some competition.

Maybe he feels overshadowed by Michael Phelps and thought "Hang on, I only won seven times and he won eight. Crikey! Better get my ass back on the bike..."

What do I ride? Now that's an Enigma!

Astana are strongly denying it. Which could pretty much confirm it...

Tee hee - are you saying Astana cant be trusted ?

I can see the strong links that he has with the team, but its the Astana bit that just seems too weird for me. The US Golden boy riding proudly for the Kazakhs ? Then again - stranger things have happened.

If he came back I could see him riding a handful of races, as Cippollini was supposed to for Rock Racing. However, I can't see him doing the Tour as he probably wouldn't be competitive. Also, would he want to ride for Contador - don't think so! Other races like the Tour of California, Tour of Georgia (should it happen) and whatever else the US has to offer make more sense.

I would imagine that if he wants he can ride with any team in the World. Astana won't want to put Contadors nose out and they are not a US team. Columbia have a strong team which will be drilled to his standards, are US owned and backed and have already tasted yellow in the TdF. He would be no threat to Cavendish, they already have Hinchapie who must be close to retiring and if he races 'for free' can you imagine the publicity he and the sponsors will get? Garmin, good team but Columbia makes a lot of sense. Can't see him on a Scott but then again Scott will make or outsource whatever he needs.
