I have just been online ready to replace the tyres on my Giant Reign - but what should I buy - I want them to do everything clear the mud but not hold me back on the few miles of road to get to it. Currently they are Trailbear 26*2.25 so any suggestions ?
Cheers

  • Did you mean everything except mud, or you want them to clear mud well?

Anyway, I'd stick some Kenda Nevegal 2.35 Stick E on. Not everyone likes them, but I've found them to have tons of grip, a bit of warning before they let go, and enough volume to save your rims & let you run them at slightly lower pressures.

Good choice, the new Reign comes with them fitted with a stick e on the front as well. Failing that, the Maxxis Highroller in singleply is a good allrounder- 60a rear and supertacky front.
    My Pics !

Whadda ya mean I dont believe in god?
    I talk to him everyday....
  • Well I have gone for the Maxis highroller - hope they arrive before the weekend
  • Let us know what you think of them after a few rides?

Maxis Medusa - 2.1 large carcass mud tyres fast rolling, great grip and bigger than the mud X, got me through everything last winter

Nobby nics - 2.1 or 2.25 - expensive but great allrounders, very light (<600g for 2.25)super fast rolling, very grippy and clear everything but deep sticky mud, still running my 2.25's but recent downpoor means will switch over. get the expensive ust or anti snakebite versions if you want to run low pressre though, sidewalls are thin
