Hi,

Looking at getting a fast cross bike for going to work on, with panniers.
Terrain will be cycle tracks & bridle tracks.

Was thinking about the Spesh TriCross, although didn't really want the carbon forks.... so found these with shimano 105 groupset....

Kenesis Crosslight 4t
or
Dawes audax

The Kenesis is lighter by about 1kg I believe, and looks nicer.

Any experience of these bikes? (or recommend anything different under £1k ?)

Cheers,
Phil.

...but do you have the fast legs? Well do ya? :D:wink:
...all the way...'til the wheels fall off and burn...
  • No experience of the Crosslight 4t, but I do have a KiC2 and the frame is fantastic. Kinesis also originally made a name for themselves by building good cross bikes so I doubt buying the 4t would be a bad idea. There is no other manufacturer out there making such good value for money frames IMO, and I've never read a bad review about any of their bikes.

I'm also very keen to point out every time Kinesis is mentioned that the service you get from Upgrade (the distributors and manufacturers) is second to none. They were always more than happy to answer my stupid questions, and when I had a problem with the first frame it was replaced in less than a week. Compare that to a mate of mine, who after 2 months is still waiting on a warranty replacement from Bianchi.
