Now, I am a fan of the practical. A lover of traditional spoked wheels, a fan of steel frames and a critic of bling for bling's sake.

But this is GORGEOUS...

Reminds me of a film I saw with Lucy Liu dressed up as a dominatrix.

Did I say that out loud?

Buick - do tell me more !!!

Yeah - I left a keyboard next to a fan heater once cos some numpty had spilt their water on it. By the time I remembered about it - it did resemble the wobbly pinarello.

'Payback' starring Mel Gibson from 1998. It's a remake but very good in my opinion - and yes, it really does star Lucy Liu as a dominatrix and it really is what I thought of when I saw that bike.

Fabulous looking but has it got the £1000 Lightweight rear-mech? Just looking at that position makes my back wince. The manufactureres show these bikes but put 40mm of spacer over the headset and the aesthetic starts to go. Still, a fab.piece of bike porn. Strange how the curved t/tube is now becoming de rigeur. It almost makes me think there is only one factory in Taiwan making bike frames

A great film with Gibson a somewhat amoral character and some neat set-ups. Lucy Liu is both scary and hot. I would...........but I wouldn't

I do like Lucy Liu. Much more than the bike to be honest.

I dunno - that first bike does indeed look like it was extruded from something organic rather than assembled :? Not a fan really - not shiny enough and far too curvy. Now there's nothing wrong with curvy women (see Girls in Lycra shorts thread) but on bikes I like the odd straight line or two, particularly on the frame.

Guess I'm just an old fart

What do I ride? Now that's an Enigma!
  • Well for what it's worth - here's my lovely Prince:

lovely that - really really sweet!

One thing though... (sorry) - don't you think that white bar tape would be better - especially with the hudz and white toupe saddle?
  • Cheers. Have white on the other bikes, but like the black/white/red effect that tape gives to the bar area. Unless I get red Hudz and white tape... the Hudz got trashed when I crashed on the Etape this year and need replacing anyway!

Christ I'm such a tart.

careful - apparently the 'red' hudz are a kind of pinky-red that doesn't look like it does in the advertising lit.

still a sweet bike - but would need to be white tape for me.
  • Is that Wilier an XDS Carbon frame?

Very nice Jash, although it does, as been pointed out, need white bar tape for the proper Euro tart look. Assos Swiss team jersey and white shorts optional....

Ensure you ride it in white cotton gloves too.

The compact is a bit of a disappointment on a missile like that too - sort it out son. Mined ewe, it looks like you live somewhere with similar terrain to round here!
  • Strangely, that black Pinarello doesn't really float my boat.

Me neither. I'd rather have Jash's and stick some red or white Tricomps on it (assuming I could get them on the bloody rims ).

Oh and the Cento Uno with Boras is a piece of art (IMO) in Carbon, White or Cunego. Don't like the yellow (wtf!) or Lampre colourways.
  • The Pinarello is vile.
Wilier is getting there, still too black.
    White is the new black.
Just a fat bloke on a bike
  • The question is how much is it ?
I bet its lots and lots and then a lot more.
The gear changing, helmet wearing fule.
