The worst of both worlds - using a turbo in the rain

I know it sounds stupid but I have an excuse;
Mrs TT is 2 days overdue for arrival of baby TT.... so I cant stray too far from home
No room in the house or shed to set up a turbo (now the box room is a nursery)
I need my weekend bike ride or I'm going to go mad...

The only option is to set it up in the back garden but it's chucking it down....

Has anyone ever used a turbo in the rain? Am i going to write it off? Its only a cheapy mag one..

  • Now that your leave passes are going to be diminishing for a while. Invest in one of those green and white Gazebo's from Argos (or every trashy mail order/through the letterbox catalogue) handy for BBQ's as well, I should think.

    Hopefully you won't have the neighbours dogs howling or anything!? :lol: My turbo is a old fan, sounds like it is building up speed for take-off. Are the magnets, quieter by a lot?

    Set it up in the living room. If she objects, say that you'll make your weekend bike ride by taking her to the hospital on the back of your bike. ;)
  • Thanks for the tips guys - managed to fit the arse end into the shed so saved the day! its been 3 years since I used the wretched thing - god they are boring!

    A bit late now (well maybe not - ours was 9 days overdue, so you may have another weekend yet!), but anyway...

    She wasn't actually in labour was she? In which case you do get plenty of warning - are you not allowed to leave the house at all for any reason (you are presumably still going to work)?

    In which case why not go out for a ride staying within half an hour's riding of home and take a mobile phone with you? I really can't see how that would be a problem.
