How can you find Derbyshire boring???
I live in Norfolk, now thats boring!
I travel as often as possible to the Peaks, even just for a quick ride, somedays.
I've actually thought of moving there!
Start with a budget, finish with a mortgage!

The only man made trails at Ladybower are the "metalled"tracks that go around the reservoirs, fairly flat/family/pushchair friendly type stuff.

    Bloomin' eck,

Cumberland Brook is one of the best descents in the UK!
  • Not sure what you mean by 'good'. Do you mean smooth surfaced? Exciting? Go via the pub? It is difficult to answer without knowing because Derbyshire has gazillions of tracks and trails ranging from the tarmac 'roads' of the Manifold to the heart-stopping descents of Hollinsclough.

Agree with NapoleonD. Cumberland is excellent. Derbyshire has some of the best rides in the country in my humble opinion. Both the dark and white peak are superb :D

Dont go to tissington or high peak. There are too many families there with kids who cant cycle in straight line. The track is an old trainline ok for in the winter but its like hardpack asphalt, and it stings like a bugger when you fall off.

    Hope this helps

You fell off riding the High Peak Trail? Wow.

These trails are useful for getting around between real off-road sections. Yes they are boring, but they are better than tarmac.
