I finally got my bikescheme voucher!!!!!!! So, clutching it in my clammy and quivering hands I went down to Halfords to trade it in for a Boardman Comp that it took me 3 months to decide to buy....but........I am met with a Kona Zing (only one in stock, and the right size too), reduced from £999.00 to £700!!!

The Boardman is £600 and the Kona £700. I have a voucher for £700 so could get the Boardman and have £100 to spare for pedals etc.....but the Kona looks better specced! Can anyone confirm this?

Also, having waited an age, Halfords also tell me it will take at least a week for them to "service" the bike. I am inclined to just take it home and get a local LBS to check it over for me. Or bribe someone from this forum to do the job.

I would get the Kona - better groupset and it is just way cooler.
I'm left handed, if that matters.
  • Sorry but the boardman just looks better, unless you're a girl!! :?

    Can we fix it?
    Yes we can!
  • And I thought that the whole idea of Bikescheme was that the VAT got knocked off so you could very nearly get the next Boardman up in the range.

Yeah, he has a £700 voucher, which will cost him about £375 to pay back.

(and I'd choose the Bordman, cos I think they look ace!)
