What are those wire things called?

Just fitting some mudguards to my winter and I've considered fitting those wire things that you attach to the back end of your guards that skim crap off your tyres to help prevent punctures. I'd like to order some, but the thing is I've no idea what they're called.

Any ideas?

Tyre savers I think. Cyclo used to make them way back when but these were sprung. I haven't seen them in years TBH.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

That could be the name I remember. I used to have some on an old Coventry Eagle, I'd forgotten all about them then I saw a bike with some fitted the other day.

  • Thanks. Wonder if they could be adapted to mudguard mount? Then again I could buy some piano wire and knock up my own.
