I am in a bit of a quandry guys & gals...its in regards to what I carry when out and about,
I have my tool kit, spare tubes, punture repair kit, pump, water bottle and my little camlebak,
the problem I have is that I struggle to get it all in the my triangle pouch on the frame as I have water in my camelbak, - the reason I have the small one is that I aint keen on a big backpack..
whats the best option...where do you guys keep it all and is there such a thing as a half decent light but bigish back pack to solve my problems ?
cheers

Wingnut backpacks are big but light, I am really liking mine (a Hyper 3.0), they aren't cheep though.
Alternatively, if you can fit the pump into your current backpack you can get quite big saddlepacks that will hold a lot of the rest of the stuff, and a bottlecage on the frame, of course0 -
small multitool (the amount of things you can actually use to fix your bike trailside are minimal) chaintool, strip of patches, glue, sandpapaer, some chalk, tube, pump.
You should be able to fit everything into a box about the size of those "cooks's matches" things, apart from the tube and the pump.
In many meany years of riding, I've never needed to replace two tubes on a ride, so I only ever carry one spare - and even that, I feel is a bit overkil.
I use a Camelback Chaos, which gives me 2.5L of water, all my emergency gear, and even has room for a waterproof jacket, or places to strap a full-face helmet and armour onto.0 -
I use this: deuter.
However, I am a guide and carry enough to make sure most people in my groups are safe and can ride back to base.
I have been on a ride where my wife and I had multiple punctures in both tyres at the same time. (the gap ride after farmers had been hedgecutting)
I was really glad we both had 3 spare inner tubes each.--

Another happy chaos user! Takes waterproofs, bit of grub, FAK and all my tools including a large adjustable spanner. The straps mean you can carry a lot of gear on top of the contents, but it is very slimline and low-profile on your back. Very good piece of kit really.0

This might be a silly question, but have you tried traditional cycling jerseys, with the three pockets on the back?
It's surprising how much you can fit in those, especially if combined with a bike-mounted pouch and small Camelbak also.0 -
Or bumbag? Or are they too gay and unfashionable? Like bar ends...*

* I have bar ends, and I couldn't give a stuff what anyone thinks...I am considerably more rock and roll than you.
