When will I learn?

For the second time recently, I came out of work, went to unlock my bike, and discovered I have the Wrong Stupid Keys (my wife's keys, which look almost identical).
Cue grumpy Tom, taxi ride home, and trip to pick it up tomorrow.
If only there was some kind of key "fob" thing which could aid identification of keys...
Feel free to call me names.

I've forgotten my PIN for the pain barrier.

It's your wife's fault for not telling you you had her keys
How did you manage to lock your bike in the first place though once you got to work?

Not sure if this would help but I keep my bike look key on one of those retractable key chain things......this then gets clipped to the belt clip on my shorts (I wear baggies!) and tucked into my back pocket which buttons shut to ensure I don't loose it.
I also have a second key on my bunch of house keys just incase I leave the single key at home as I usually always have my house keys in my backpack!
Can't offer much more advice then that asides from possibly recommend a combi lock, but they are a lot less secure :-S
If it makes you feel better I managed to get to work about 6 weeks ago and realized I'd left my whole lock at home! I wouldn't mind but I thought my bag was feeling rather light that day! Ended up taking a 3 mile ride into town where I managed to find a Halfords who didn't mind me bringing my bike in with me to get a basic lock to tide me over! I was just thankful the site I was working at had bike racks at the rear of the building covered by CCTV as I wouldn't have liked leave my bike with such a cr4p lock on in London!0 -
I am so prone to doing this that I keep a spare set of bicycle lock keys at work.
Trouble is that I keep them in a locked drawer and sometimes I forget the key to the drawer. This post contains traces of nuts.0 -

You can lock it without the key (handy/dangerous).sc999cs wrote:It's your wife's fault for not telling you you had her keys
Hmm. I just suggested this to my wife. Once my nose had stopped bleeding she pointed out that after the last time she suggested that I always lock the lock when taking it off, so I can't put it on unless I can take it off again. Apparently if I did this everything would be fine.
I'm not convinced.I've forgotten my PIN for the pain barrier.0 -
