Hi,

Is a 700Cx23 tyre too small for a 622x17 rim? I've got on on the front wheel after a bit of a struggle, but can't get the rear shod for the life of me.

I find the tyre sizing guides a little confusing, however I think I should have probably got the 700Cx25 size!

Cheers,
Steve

I don't think the width would make it difficult to fit, I think it is just a difficult wheel/tyre brand combo. A 17mm rim should be okay with a 23 tyre.

Thanks for the reply, I was thinking I'd made a mistake as it was so difficult to get on and I saw this page over on sheldon brown's (RIP):

    http://sheldonbrown.com/tyre-sizing.html#width

I got it on ok with some deft tyre lever work after some advice from my girlfriend

It seems fine once it's on.

    cheers,
    Steve
