Excellent - That's the day I'm planning to use the train to watch the ToB at various places in the Midlands.

And I'm planning to use my bike to watch the ToB in various places - also in the Midlands - in fact within 15 miles of home (the nearest being about one and a half miles from home.

Today was a cracker where I live. I gave up on my deskwork about midday, went out into the sunshine to finish cutting the hedge, pottered about in the garden and then got on the bike and did a lifetime best on my local 28km circuit, breaking the hour for the first time ever and by 41 seconds!!!

I can hardly move now, but I'm putting that down to the weight of my hedge trimmer!

Maybe when the weather is too good, we overtrain?

I've been out on the bike everyday since the 26th. I'm off work tomorrow so hope to get in a host of miles as for Saturday and Sunday there's a consensus on a range of forecast sites and it isn’t good. Can stomach the rain but 30mph winds gusting to 50 is no go territory for me. :(

  • We actaully had 90 minutes of sunshine late yesterday afternoon. My neighbour and I stared at the sky for a while trying to work out what the round yellow thing was. Of course this morning it's p1ssing down again :( .
