My grandad picked me up and put my wilier evasion in the back of his car and bent the drop bar shutting the boot... I felt like i couldn't scream but jesus christ... the ride home was painful trying to pretend im happy while he sits there oblivious... i could have cried.

no its the brake/gear changing part which sticks up and he didnt notice as he's my grandad,,, ageing slightly... i've bent it back but im worried about its strength now... don't want to face plant next time i put some weight on them

They are meant to turn a bit, it's stops them snapping off if you crash.

If it's the handlebars, I'd replace them - not worth the risk for the cost.
