Hi guys, remember me?

From next week I shall be employed again (after travelling for 6 months) and I shall be commuting to London Bridge from Barnet. Nice ride in the morning and afternoon.

How are we all?

Any tips for commuting the distance because last time i was commuting only 5 miles each way. The distance itself isnt an issue. The place i'm working has a basement to store my bike so i could in theory ride my nice bike... but no showers.

I currently dont have mudguards on my bike, but will be buying a new bike once i have been earning a few months, so would like a road bike with full guards any suggestions?

I will be taking my clothes in on a monday morning and taking them home on a friday afternoon.

Hmmm, well you'll need to catch up on the 1 MILLION pages of Silly Commuter Racing you've missed out on.

Other than that good luck with the job and the new commute...no showers....hhmmm how will that work when every morning you are chasing scalps along the Emabnkment

i shall be joining the commuter racing thread, i used to enjoy racing in the morning to work!

Ive never ridden in central london before so that will be an experience, will do a practice run on sunday to see the route and how long it will take. I have a garmin edge 705 so its all good.

This will get me fit which is very important as i want to get back out with my club!

I cycle into London from Barnet down the A1000, which is very straightforward. There are lots and lots and lots and lots of traffic lights so it does take me a good hour these days.
