Help - confused about mudguards!

I'm a total novice cyclist & need some mudguards & can't work out which size I need. my bike is a Specialized globe with 700cc, 35mm tyres. if i buy SKS chromoplastic mudguards should i go for the 45 mm or 50 mm ones??
I'm also thinking of ordering the dhg marsden panniers off wiggle....are they any good?

I don't know the actual answer to your query, but if I am worried about whether or not components fit I usually email and ask the retailer I thinking of buying from for their advice. (If they don't fit, you can then return them as unfit for purpose...)
