Screw on Single Speed Converter?

I have a bike I want to convert to single speed on the cheap and just don't think I can redish the wheel with the exisiting spokes. Now I could probably do it with new spokes, but...
A couple of years back I saw a single speed conversion device for screw on freewheel hubs. It was a simple device, one end screwed onto the hub, then it was stepped down and the other end had a thread on it for a freewheel. Now I can't find one anywhere.
Does anybody out there know if anybody still sells these things?
Cheers,
GJ

IIRC you just fit a BMX singlespeed freewheel."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Do that and your chainline would be way out, then you would need to redish the wheel. Unless I'm missing something fairly fundamental, if I try that with this wheel I'm going to end up with a few spokes with not much thread in the nipple.
I had considered a shorter BB axle to get the chainline right, but I don't get anywhere near before we get a serious chainset/chainstay interface.
Hence the need for the converter."Swearing, it turns out, is big and clever" - Jarvis Cocker0 -
Unfortunately it was a few years since i last did this and it is very fuzzy especially as the last 2 spin on Single speed freewheels were on dedicated hubs.
What is your current front chain line measurement? and i will have a play with the big box of bits later this week if this adaptor can not be found."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Yes that's the sort of thing I was talking about."Swearing, it turns out, is big and clever" - Jarvis Cocker0 -

The current chainline is about 48mm, yes it's an MTB triple. There isn't enough clearance for a shorter BB, but there is room to space the chainring inwards. However, spacing the chainring inwards would only give me a couple of milimetres extra at most.
Yes there are things I could do like swapping the chainset, but I'm trying to do this for the minimum possible outlay. The bike was free after all."Swearing, it turns out, is big and clever" - Jarvis Cocker0
